Architectural Images.

These images were all taken outside various windows at the Leeds college of Technology. I shot these without flash, And in AV mode. My aperture was F8 and shutter speed 1/125 s. My ISO was set to auto. I am happy with how these images turned out and like the variety of angles that i shot.

word task/ Street photography.

Street Photography is about capturing natural and ordinary moments as they unfold with the public space as their setting. It is a way of recording the everyday lives and happenings of the streets and their inhabitants. I chose to photograph these people/ objects as i thought they would connote the everyday happenings of leeds and of everyday life. I tried to take inspiration from street photographers such as Darren Hall and Nick Turpin by showing youth culture in some of my images. I used flash and AV mode to set up my camera and held the camera to create a natural image.

Depth of field.

Aperture is the hole that controls the amount of light that is allowed through the lens. It is represented in the camera as the 'f number'. This effects shots by either allowing more light into the image or less. When there is a shallow depth of field(small number, Big hole) People most commonly use this for close ups, portraits and focal points.

When there is a wider depth of field (small hole, bigger number) people most commonly use this for landscapes and to allow less light. Such as the images below.

Fast Shutter speed.

Fast shutter speed is used to catch movement such as a person jumping or running. To create the fast shutter speed i turned the ISO up. I also turned the shutter speed to 1/125 s and the aperture to F10. This effect is most commonly used in sporting events to catch a person running without making the image appear blurred.

Painting with light .

These are some examples of light trails. I set up the camera by holding it and turning the ISO down and making the aperture smaller. I also shot these images in manual. I set the shutter speed to 10 seconds to create a more defined image. I created my shots by first setting up the camera and then getting one of my class mates to make shapes and letters in the air using a torch. We also varied the images by using more/less ambient light.
